LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY
Throughout Ohio, public and private vocational rehabilitation programs depend on state and federal tax dollars to provide programming and services to Ohioans with disabilities. Vocational Rehabilitation programs assist people with disabilities to remove barriers to employment and independent living.
Due to the ever-changing political climate, education and advocacy are paramount to enlist the support of our elected public officials regarding the needs of Ohioans with disabilities.
The Governmental Affairs Committee disseminates legislative alerts via the “Ohio Wire”/or our e-newsletters for any pertinent legislation or issues that members need to address with their state senators and representatives. The Committee provides the necessary tools to promote education and advocacy for people with disabilities.
The NRA “Action Alerts” provide information for federal level requests to contact our Senators and Congressional Representatives. Visit the NRA Website for current and archived Action Alerts.
